As much as Brosnan had the "look and feel" of an Ian Flemming Bond, the scripwriters and producers damn-sure didn't let him do anything with it.
They need to take the series back to the basics and have the film crew ACTUALLY read some of Ian Flemming's works. Bond was a rough-shod, self-destructive SOB and a womanizer to boot. It's been so PC'd and dumbed down I can barely stomach the newer films anymore.
As much as I'm sure it would crater the revenue of the series, all Bond films should have a resoundingly solid "R" rating; murder, sex, language, content...
...it needs it all to give the series back it's balls.

Hear hear! Their goes the $ though. The Sean Connery era was bar none everything I love/loved about Bond films. Lots of creative gadgetery, great cars and lots of beautiful women wanting Bond to get his shag on with them.
