I recently tried to unfasten the stabilizer link (small link bar about 1 foot long) to strut bracket connection. I put a socket onto the nut and as I turned to loosen the nut, the whole bolt began turning. The back side of the bolt is round headed so I can't use a wrench to hold it from turning.

Any ideas on how to undo this nut?

There is a hidden nut on the shaft of the link bolt - it's partially covered by the boot. Just put a wrench on that to hold it while you loosen the nut with the socket.

Mine rounded off a little so I just used an impact wrench and the nut came right off. With the bolt . I eneded up getting new endlinks since they were so rusted. However, I think the impact wrench would work on a bolt in better shape.
