I've been learning about Contours since I was 17. It's about time to buy one. If anyone has one in the $6k range let me know. I can't pay full upfront cash (college), but if you know a dealer or are willing to work out a payment plan ($200/mo or so) with a downpayment of $800 let me know. I will visit if you are in the Northeast and I will take care of shipping etc. Please help me out. Give me a call or email after 2pm Mon-Thur or anytime Fri-Sun. Thanks. (NJ, NY, CT, MA, MD, PA)

Yeah, COUGARS riddle used car lots all over for 5K on average. With what you are looking to do with your DP and monthly payments I don't see why you couldn't get one if you have ok credit. I would look around locally or check your local rag for one. A bank shouldn't have any problem fronting that kind of money to you if your credit is good.

They do share the same CDW-27 platform , so still should be considered .
I've seen some Contiques in the "Auto Locator" that were well within that range . Got something like the Locator in your area (not sure if it stretches out that far) ??

I agree. I've been contemplating doing a Cougar next due to the fact it's only a two door and they had a few upgraded parts. Tranny and such, etc.
Check cars.com, autotrader and vehix.com and make sure to pick up local free car ads. I'm sure you'll find something. And don't be afraid to pick up an non-SVT, either. The regular 6 cylinders with 5 speeds didn't make as much power but that's easily remedied plus they are a little lighter which isn't as easily remedied. Good luck and don't feel afraid to post questions on specific hits you find. Also, check out SVT Performance for ads on other SVT Contours.
Good luck!

I barely have credit just opening a checking account and getting a new Visa today. I called in for this one even though it's about a 4 hours drive away I think I could still manage. 2000 Contour SVT

Maybe you could ask if someone in the New England forum is close to that area. Someone might be willing to check it out for you before you make the drive.

There is a guy on SVT performance in PA that is super desperate to sell his highly modd'd SVT http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=176437That page has the old price, i think hes looking for 7k now cause its been for sale for as long as i can remember. Well over a year and ahalf on CEG. I seriously looked at it when i was looking for a new car but couldnt get a 7k loan so i went with the focus instad.... Good luck.

It would be nice to have credit =\ I haven't been approved so for with any banks, otherwise I'd jump on that. I pretty much have to stick to used car dealers that offer financing.
