OP biggies98 New CEG\'er B Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 11 Official home of Bluegrass mus...	Hi all, newbie here w/ a problem. I've my '98 'Tour for about 3 months and just recently it has developed a problem w/ the hood latch. Slamming it doesn't do it, pushing down gently is a no-go. I guess my ? is can the latch be adjusted? I really don't want to pay somebody $$$ if the fix is that simple. 1998 Contour SE 2.0

I've tried lubricating it, but I think its just corroded beyond repair. When I'm not so lazy I was going to just replace the the whole mechanism. Beer is my Gatorade. Hooray Beer. Then if that doesn't work, see if it may have been pushed aside because the front has been bumped unknowingly. That front area "moves" easily when pushed. "Always do the cheap and easy ones first." 1996 V6 ATX 96K miles

stickyjazz CEG\'er S Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 284 not far enough away	my latch is a bit funny as well but it is consistant. I will try to close the hood but the latch will not catch so that the hood will sit on the spring on the first try. Repeated attempts to close the hood ususally do not work. Then I then pull the hood release again and close the hood and the latch will catch. Even after repaeated cleaning and lube, this problem persists.
