I finally replaced the coolant hoses on my 96 SE with 97,000 miles. Have put it off for 1 1/2 years, since I purchased all the factory hoses. The hoses looked like they had a few years of life to left in them, but you never know.

I have an Astro Pneumatic hose clamp tool to remove the factory "spring clamps". It helps a little but the job is not easy, I ended up cutting down a small pair of channel lock pliers, for clearance in the tight spots, which I used the most. The most difficult hoses to replace are the ones to the heater core. I ended up removing the Y-pipe and the cat. convertor to gain some working room. I replaced the factory clamp with worm clamps there. I also inspected the wiring harness and found some really bad spots and have finally set up an appointment to have them replaced.

Just giving a warning to give yourself plenty for time, it is also a perfect time to clean the intake manifolds, since they have to come off to do the job.
