I built the box in the pictures that you saw, and used the pieces off my other two boxes to make it look cool. then I also built the false floor and flush mounted the amps too. It took me about two weekends and I had just completed all the work in July. It sucks that there is no replacement value for custom work you do yourself.!!! Well anyways, I am going to lose money on this deal so for all the people that thought I set it up for money your stupid. I loved my car, I just finished the work, and I owe way too much for my car, I will take a loss. I owe $13,900 for my car. It is a 1998 SVT with 50,000 miles. Its not worth $13,900, try more like 10 or 11 thousand. I'll be in the hole. I am going to try to buy another contour svt but if I can't find one I like I will purchase a 2001 Mazda MP3, If I get enough money for my tour. I have a feeling I will be without a car for a while. I got 16500 for my contour with 50k miles on it when it was totalled.

I hope they end up in a fiery hell for this. Even A code grabber wont work, the key sends off no rf signal. You have to have a key to actually start it with any relatively ease.Otherwise you have a lot of wire hcking and splicing to do to by pass the "reader" in the sterring colum.Think of the PATS like this, your key is like a credit card, your sterring colum is where you swipe the key(card). If you dont swipe it you get no start or however....

It's also amazing that they didn't slap on some steel GL 14" instead of EO wheels 14" wheels are too small to clear the larger rotors on the SVTs. This is all a very strange story but at the same time it kind of makes sense. Even if the thief/thieves didn't take the car right away, waited an hour, they'd still have three hours to do this 'job'. Don't forget, its MUCH easier to take things apart than it is to put them back together! As for the intake difficulty I can't comment but with the stereo...I could have removed the components in less than an hour, by myself. I might spend 4-6 hours installing a stereo put I can break it down in no time. Remember, these are criminals with no respect for others property(they were planning to burn it for christ sake!)they don't give a damn HOW it comes out just so long as it comes out!

E0 does have PATS, but if you had a PATS bypass for remote start...
Or I'm sure professional car strippers already know how to defeat PATS. If the kids at the alarm shop can do it...

Did they take the computer too? I'd think the only way to get SVT performance out of an SE or Stock engine would be to have the Cams, Intake, and computer...More than likely this was done by more than one interested party. The wheels went to someone who owned an SVT or SVT wheels...the Intake and Cams went to someone who had a stock Duratec...and the Stereo went to both probably...Just an Idea...
