Great movie, see it!! Here is what I posted elswhere about it.

"Serenity" is the movie based on Joss Whedon's TV series "Firefly" that was cancelled by Fox before the first season ended; Fox's big mistake. The series was very well written, well produced, and well acted. Most of the movie is pedal to the metal action, loud, with great effects and camera work. The story for the movie is well written and further character development, taking place at a blistering pace, is well done, so you have to pay attention throughout the movie. I was literally at the edge of my seat more than once with sweaty palms, yes the movie was that good, the best Sci/Fi adventure movie I have seen in a long time, so good we plan to see it again, at least one more time! It's a big 5 out of 5 stars for us!!

Friday night was the third time I've seen it.

I saw it in June, as part of their advance sneak previews, and once last month as part of the press screening.

FANTASTIC movie. The original show, Firefly, really set the pace, and was cancelled FAR before it should have.

This is easily the best movie of the year... but we (the Browncoats... see the show to understand) need word of mouth to get it MOVING.

saw it friday night, fantastic movie. Even for those that never saw the show, they should go see it because it stands very well on its own.

Plus, there are some serious twists at the end that you just can't see coming. Well worth the money to go see, and I will definately be going back to see it again soon. And for those that know my schedule these days, that is saying a lot.

Same here. Great movie on its own... The action scenes are incredible. It's VERY well written and well shot.

Definitely worth $8... Or $16 to go see it twice. =]

Yes, it does stand well on it's own, the beginning "flashback" explains enough to know what is going on. The weekend estimates place it at #2 with slightly over $10 million in sales. See here

I haven't seen it yet, but if it's half as good as the series was, it's got to be worth it.

It's not your average movie by any means.

But... the trick is this... I'm part of the Browncoats... the fanbase. Long story. We've got teams... "crews," if you would.

Our charge is to convince as many people to see it as possible. Trying to make it the 5 by 5 challenge. Our challenge is to get 5 people to see it, who may then, in turn get 5 more.

IF this breaks $80m for it's theatrical run, we get 2 more out of it. For those of us who have followed this from the series to the movie... there is still a LOT of work to be done.

For those familiar with the movie, Joss hinted at his ideas... with one question-

"What happened to Jubal Early?"
