I am in the process of archiving all how-tos, walkthroughs, fixes, and any other well documented (via pictures or thorough discussion) threads before CEG upgrades to the newer format.

I have:
Every FAQ/How-to from the main site.
Every faq/How-to under
  • General Mods
  • Duratec Maintenance
  • Duratec Performance
  • Zetec Maintenance (there are none )
  • Zetec Performance
  • Suspension
  • Transaxle
  • Brakes
  • Wheels&Tires
  • Forced Induction
  • 3L Forum
  • Audio
  • Aesthetics

Basically, anything that is stickied, or on the main site is already taken care of over the course of the last months.

What I need now is your help. You know those threads that people post with SUCH good information? The ones like SetiRich posted about his blower problem, and how to completely redo your fuse box connectors and all wiring? that is excellent!! I need the collective help of all to point out those threads so I can grab them to enable them to be neatly organized in the newer version of the forums (when that does come to be)

So.. Let's hear some of those threads that you've always (or just recently) been like "man.. that's helpful!!" before they are forgotten about until someone needs the help.

Thanks, all.

Ray

The Forced Induction stickied thread needs to be redone completely. Street Flight is now ADC and the price is no longer $5000 like mentioned in the thread. ADC isnt even mentioned until like the 15 posts down. There are some good links in there, but im just looking out for newbs who are gonna start searching for Street Flight only to realize they dont exist.

EDIT: I was just going through the threads in the FI. Cant we just carry everything over? LOL. So many threads in there that would be really useful such as FMIC fitment, cam preferences, twin turbos, homemade turbo kits, turbo sizing, blow through or draw through setup, non existent turbo kit companies, etc, etc.

Personally I think there should be a more newb friendly 3L introduction section I guess. Sure, after a lot of piecing parts together I get it better now, but before it was pretty confusing. Things such as a hybrid being a 3L block with 2.5 heads, what a full conversion is, approx pricing, what tends to work, ect. THEN start including the more detailed parts like where to get parts, modifying fuel rails and intakes, ect.

Just my $.02

definitely. we're in the middle of doing the 3L conversion right now and we keep jumping around trying to patch info together. a LOT of the info i did get was via PM from Stazi. example, we could not find any info specifically regarding soldering the wiring harness.

once Stazi hammered out a lot of the confusion for us it turned out to be much simpler than we expected. I think if a realllly comprehensive and user/noob friendly FAQ can be put together there would be more 3Ls running around out there. i think so many of you guys know these duratecs so well that you dont notice this. and we really do appreciate all the info that has been contributed by everybody already

Evidently the bolded sticky thread at the top of this forum

Ray ... I'm so glad to hear somebody's taking charge to get everything all together and updated. There were some serious flaws in the current system (particularly the fact that half the FAQs were on the main site and others were buried under forums, as well as some being seriously out of date -- Ray McNairy's e-mail address was still in a few till a year or so ago). I wish I had some to contribute!

BINGO.. THAT is what I was meaning.. the posts that only a few notice, but if I didn't happen to notice PERSONALLY, I wouldn't have thought to look for it. Most people I think misunderstood and thought that I wanted to know suggestions on NEW FAQS that should be made, which is something that should be done, but not exactly what I was looking for. thanks, Chongo, for providing an example of EXACTLY what I wanted.

Keep 'em coming folks.. this is for posterity, and the more of this stuff we have, the less we'll EVER have to type SEARCH again.

I have not been on the site since August of 2003 and not much has changed. I applaud your initiative in updating the site.
