1998 Contour, 2.0 Zetec and 5-speed. New plugs, coil pack, fuel pump and filter, good fuel pressure and spark, won't start. I tried to retrieve the codes, but my reader's yellow LED remains lit and the only indications I get are the "monitor" indicators flashing - catalyst monitor, evaporative system monitor, oxygen sensor monitor and oxygen sensor heater monitor. When flashing, the manual says that it is not ready for the emissions test. The car will not start and per the owners manual, must run for 10 minutes prior to the emissions test. As far as "codes" go, after being on the car for 15 minutes, it still shows 0 for the codes. Ray has suggested replacing the CKP, crank shaft position sensor, and I'm trying to find one in stock. I also tried the 1/4 throttle start, no dice. Any other thoughts? My reader is the iEQUUS/INNOVA Model 3030, $70 unit sold at WalMart(www.codereader.com).
