I just got my 96 this week.

So I read that the 2.0 L4 has inherant vibration at idle - like mine does with A/C on when it is in drive!

Any way to increase idle RPMs? I see ajustment screw at point where accelerator cable connects to carb. Will this do it or will I mess something up?

All Zetecs vibrate a certain extent......check your plugs and wires first.

Are you sure? They can visually look perfectly fine but still be shot. Have you tested them by powerbraking in Drive and Reverse and seeing if the engine moves significantly?

Unfortunately I don't think there's an easy way to bump up the idle since it's controlled by the computer. The adjustment screw at the throttle body (it doesn't have a carb) sets the base idle, which the computer then adjusts from there using the idle air valve. You could try adjusting that screw, but it may cause drivability problems and a check engine light because the computer can't get the idle down as low as it wants.

You can't adjust the idle from the TB. More than likely the vibration is caused by a bad mount or tuning problem.

I backed the screw out 1 full turn. I will see tomorrow how it runs.

Could not drive it 2 days while bogged down trying to get the radiator petcock out and in - which is in good enough to use it for work this week.

Turn the screw BACK a whole turn.. it did nothing for you.

I believe Hector stated that very thing a mere 8 HOURS before you posted that.
