I just had this code pulled today. The car has been acting funny for the last couple of weeks. It has really been hesitating when I push on the gas. The code says it is a misfire in cylinder 3. What 'em I looking at replacing? Spark plugs, wires, rotor and cap? Or all of the above?

Check the plug first and see if it is getting spark.

no rotor/stator or cap on the car.. cha-ching.. saved you money right there, didn't I?

Check the following:

Plugs (electrode status, oil fouled, etc.)
Wire on that cylinder.

as well as the general stuff:
air filter quality, fuel filter quality/age
etc

OK, I'm not sure what that is in miles but I suspect that its a lot.

I was getting a P0302, misfire on #2 and before you spend good money swapping out parts, check the coil pack.

Mine had coil resistance that was higher than normal and replacing the coil pack solved the problem and restored normal function.

Ignition Coil Pack
TESTING
2.0L Engine
PRIMARY WINDING RESISTANCE

Testing coil primary winding resistance
Turn the ignition OFF.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the air intake resonators.
Disconnect the wiring harness from the ignition coil.
Check for dirt, corrosion or damage on the terminals and repair as necessary.
Measure coil primary resistance between the center ignition coil pin (B+) and pins 1 (coil 1) and 3 (coil 2).
Resistance should be 0.3-1.0 ohms. If resistance is out of specifications, replace the coil pack. If resistance
is within specifications, proceed to secondary windings testing.

SECONDARY WINDING RESISTANCE
Testing coil secondary resistance of coil 2-2.0L engine
Measure coil secondary resistance between the corresponding spark plug wire towers on the coil.

Coil 1-cylinders 1 and 4
Coil 2-cylinders 2 and 3
2. Resistance should be 12.8-13.1 kilohms. If secondary resistance is not within specification, replace the coil
pack.

Good Luck

Gary
