OK i don't know how to best explain it so i'll try!! Each time i get a little stupid and rev the car up while it is in neutral or park, there is a loud rubbing ( this is the best i can make of it) sound. Each time i crank the car up when it has been sitting for awhile and turn the wheel just a bit..it makes the same sound and acts as if it is going to cut off. If you have ever tried turning a pipe into a tight hole and heard a stress sound or weird loud creaking souns, that is it! i have a thought that it may be the water pump??!! Help would be appreciated!

Could be the power steering (check the fluid level) and bleed for the air to escape. Bleed by turning steering from lock to lock a few times. Then try bleed procedure again after a few hours.

or it could be the Moose problem if it sounds similar to this...

To fix Moose problem, put hose clamp in the middle of 45 degree hose (between the IAC valve area and inlet duct (accordian tube). Tighten until the moose (foghorn) sound is gone.

I think I have the same noise - it doesn't sound as much like a fog horn as it does a very loud rubbing noise. I'm guessing this is the "moose" sound I've always read about. I'm going to try the throttle hang fix and see if that does the trick or not.

This might be a faster and easier fix. "Moose problem, put hose clamp in the middle of 45 degree hose (between the IAC valve area and inlet duct (accordian tube). Tighten until the moose (foghorn) sound is gone."
