Well, I traded in the Contour last week. I traded it in for an 2000 Acura 3.2 TL. Even though I absolutely love my new car, the Tour will always hold a special place in my heart. Most of you are probably wondering who I am, and as you can tell, I do not post here very much, however, I do check her frequently, and often have gleaned from the vast wealth of knowledge this site has to offer. I am glad that I found a site where there where so many mature people just here to take good care of the vehicle they had. I now am trying to find an Acura/Honda forum that isn't full of 16 year olds ricing out their cars. I'm sure that will be a fun task. Anyways, I will continue to lurk, and keep up on the never ending CEG drama. I sometimes think reading this forum is more entertaining than reality TV!! Thanks for all the help and entertainment!! Later Guys!! Spacemonkey

ATX. That was the only downer to the whole thing. Well, that and it wasn't a Type-S, but they didn't make those until 2002. Anyways, it is still quick, it is is near perfect shape, the engine bay is SPOTLESS, as is the interior, and the front end still drives like it just came out of the showroom. It has 70,000 miles, but you would not know that by driving it.
Anyways, yah, I am very happy, just miss the contour since I owned the thing for 4 years, over an hour of every day in it.

Yup, they have it where you can shift it yourself, problem is, the shift between first and 2nd gear is still controlled by the computer. After that, it lets you shift yourself. Makes it a little more fun to drive, except the 1st and 2nd part. I drove an Audi that had the same thing, and you could keep it in 1st all you wanted, but Acura didn't trust us to not damage the ATX, or some crap like that.

5 speed. The new TL's have a available 6 Speed I believe.
However, if I want to control 1st to 2nd, I can do it the old fashiion way still. Drop the shifter to D1, and let that vtec kick in.

oooooooo! Sweet. The only thing about those new 6+ Autos is I don't think I'd be able to keep track of which gear I was in mentally like I do in my car. Not really important, but a thought.

I don't know if the autos do or not, but the MTX's do for sure. I can see what you mean about the 6 speed auto though. Although, if its like my 5 speed, it won't even shift into 5th unless you are going fairly fast.

3.2TL's are actually somewhat fast... But I wasnt happy with the semi-atx... when I coasted with the car... felt like the brakes were on, that or there is a saftey feature to prevent me going 110 mph on country roads. It had a sun roof on the car, i was tall, and it kept hitting my head. And I dont really see 3.2's being riced out, but the engine has some potential. But I'd prefer a Ford if my money was to pay for it. Maybe a nice tasty Mustang
