Its a simple job. If you have access to air tools, use them. Otherwise.....PB Blaster, lots of PB Blaster.

Kinda on that topic, would bad tranny and engine mounts be causing that wretched, teeth-rattling idle I have? I replaced the IAC and cleaned the MAF, IAT and it's STILL doing it.

that is what mine is doing. i usually just put it in neutral when stopped. i had one of my techs tell that the drivers rear tranny mount is bad.

I really need to get whatever it ends up being fixed, or I will never sell this car for a decent price.

I have no idea what you can or cannot do. Just grab a haynes manual or ford service cd (pm me if you don't have it). All I've done is the top tranny mount which was obviously very easy. I'm sure the others take some more work, but definitely doable. But if you got someone that will do it for you (I take it that you're a shop manager?), then why not have them do it?

i work in a ford parts department, so i can have a tech do it for me, i would just cost me. i also would like to think of myself as mechanicaly inclined. i have never changed mounts before, so not sure what it would consist of. i do have a haynes manual. just didn't know if someone has done it, and if it was fairly easy or not.

I've done the front and rear roll resistors and the driver side tranny mount. Fairly easy to do. You need to set the handbrake so the car won't roll, jack up the front and put it on jackstands. Put a piece of wood on your floor jack and lift the motor just enough to take the weight off the mounts, but not enough to lift the car off the jackstands. Just a matter of pulling the old mounts off and replacing them after that. Took me about 3 or 4 hours, did it in my driveway. Good Luck, Doug
