I've been searching for a little while now, but nothing yet. How do you cut the riveted bolts from the ball joint. anything would be helpful, thanks.

You don't cit the rivets, you drill them out. A Haynes manual, IIRC, details the procedure.

you can cut them out if you have an air hammer. its a lot faster then trying to drill through the rivit. all you do is take the air hammer with the right tip and cut the top off. after that it should fall out. if it doesn't then take a small punch and a hammer and punch it through.

why not just use a grinder?

I would skip that all together and find controll arms with the ball for 68-80 dollars (usally ebay) the bushings on the arms wearout and find it's better to just replace the whole thing. But thats just me.

Yes, it is just you. $20 for greasable ball joints is the only way. The best way to remove them from the arm is to get a cutting wheel and cut a plus in the rivets. Grab an air chisel to chisel the rivets out then.

But new controll arm bushings, boy they add to the feel of a new suspension, sucks you can't just replace the bushings.

cut an x in the head of the rivet, then air chisel it off
if your air chisel is strong enough, you *MIGHT* be able to push out the rivets with it, but if not you gotta drill them out

Or the same thing I said. Is this a new joke I wasn't let in on. I guess others just like to type.
