Traded in the GTP for a 01 explorer sport
should be nice for fishing.. contour will be the daily driver

sohc i beleive, 205 hp 240 tq ,model, the newer motor drives nice linky to pics

ever driven a gtp with a DHP pcm installed? LOL floor is and the DIC reads 44 Litres per 100 KM average was 10L / 100 on the hwy this wont be better but it wont be worse by the time you figure in premium fuel ... contour will be doing the 700km a week now, explorer will get 50 or so, aside from fishing trips

Yeah...I'm sure you will probably equal out one day between increased V6 gas usage versus premium gas prices. Besides, now you have Control-Trac AWD (I think?) and cargo capacity. That should be good for hitting the fish, especially when you tow a good sized boat and gear

That engine came in 2WD Sport, I believe. 17mpg/city - 22mpg/hwy. (17.5gal tank)
GTP 18mpg/city - 28mpg/hwy (17.5gal tank)
Those are stock numbers.
GTP with premium at $1.18/lt = $70.80
Explorer regular at $1.00/lt = $60.00
both based on a 60 litre fill up
So if you drive 60% highway the:
Explorer - 490km on 60lt 12lt/100km or 19.32 mpg
GTP - 550km on 60lt 10.91lt/100km or 21.68mpg
price/km Explorer - 12.2cents/km, GTP - 14.3cents/km
**if you were getting 10lt/100km hwy then the price/km on the GTP would be 11.8 cents.

hehe the gtp was 99.9% hwy milage too and still 10L/100 using the cruise... which never happens, not happy unless that boost guage is lite up and i had to run 94 in it with the smaller super charge pully and PCM tune, 91 was OK if i stayed off the boost
