I replaced my IMRC again. The last one I found on a totaled SVT in Savage. This time I bought a new one from Apple Valley Ford. I spliced in a wiring extension and moved it to the driver's side behind the under hood fuse box. Hopefully this will allow it to live longer due to less heat. Only time will tell. You can see pictures of it at the following link.

Yeah the way i understand they get real hot if you have any kind of traffic situations in like high heat summer... I kinda wanna put mine under the battery i've heard of people doing that.

I've replaced the one in my 96 and just last week had to replace the one in the SVT. I think I will try to relocate the one in the SVT sometime soon. Right know I just have the cover off.

I tried it with the cover off and it still got cooked . It was pretty easy to relocate it by the fuse box.

The new one is awesome. No hesitation and very smooth operation. I forgot what it was like to have reliable response from the car. I am going to build a heat shield in the next couple of weeks to block more heat from the area. I will post pictures on my cardomain site when I get it done.
