It've decided to replace my rear brake pads, but the brake cylinder will not push in. I use the E-brake all the time, so I don't think its frozen. I've changed the fronts with no problem. And the rear design will not allow a C-Clamp to be used. All I have is the maintanance book from the auto parts and it doesn't have a good description of the rear brakes. I'm I missing something? Any ideas?

rotate like a screw using a pair of needlenose pliers in two of the four "divots" that are on the caliper.
Loosen the bleed screw slightly before turning to allow the fluid to go somewhere and it is even easier.
(remember to tighten)

That would be the caliper PISTON that you need to thread in. It does not push in like the front brakes. This is pretty common on rear disc brake systems that use the caliper for the park brake.

you need to buy a little Ford Specific tool from your local auto parts.. unfortunately it makes rear brake pad replacements ALOT easier.. I think its under 12.00 -- it looks like a metal square, it fits into a recess so you turn and get the pads out.
if your unsure as to what your looking for just tell the parts person that your changing your rear brakes on a FORD product and you need a special tool.. they will point you in the correct direction in 2 seconds.

Don't need to at all.. It may certainly make it easier, but a needlenose plier will do the job quite well.
