Here is the end result of doing a three point turn on Friday while on the way to work. I had to limp home from Dundas W. and Mississauga Rd to Jane and Dundas in 2nd gear (a good 30+ kms).
What actually happend was I was shifting into reverse and it just popped loose, pulled the cover to find the lower axis ball joint had come CLEAN off the shift lever. I picked up the shifter during the last group buy, so I had only had it installed for about 4 weeks. Nothing harsh done with the shifter. Quite suprised and un-impressed with Fidanza. And seeing as the shifter comes with ZERO warrenty, I doubt I'd be seeing a thing from Fidanza.
More here.

Pretty much the only option I have. If you look at this picture it appears as though the lower ball joint is not even welded, but pressed/stamped on...

Wow, talk about poor craftmanship, I'm glad I didn't buy one ! Thanks for posting this ! I think I'll go with the B&M if I buy a short shifter.

That blows!
The same thing happened to my OBX a while back while I was shifting into 5th on the highway. I had the wife bring me the stock shifter and I performed emergency surgery on the side of the highway! My buddy weld back on for me and I haven't had a problem since.

I had an OBX that broke 3 times. First time I sent it back and they replaced it. Then it broke again like above and I fixed it. Then it broke the third time...
