I am new at the game and want to know what day hell is a throttle body. Also, how much of a difference will it make if i remove my resonator on my 98SE (which would be my first mod)?

the Throttle body is basically a gateway that controls airflow and subsequent fuel flow into the engine. Think of it as a faucet...open it up and lots of air flows into the motor, causing revs to increase and power to build....close is and air flow is cut, decreasing revs and associated power. It is basically what your gas pedal is linked to that makes the engine respond to your inputs.

Actually a throttle body on a port injected car never see's any fuel. wink

A throttle body on ThrottleBody Injection(TBI) will see fuel because the injectors and before the throttle plate & base.

The throttle body is basically the area or even complete piece that contains the throttle plate & rod, throttle base, and air horn if applicable.

It also can have an array of other parts attached or integrated into it (TPS, IAC, EGR, linkage, etc)

Look for the lever on the top of the engine that moves when the gas pedal is pressed. That lever is attached to your throttle body. If your exhaust and intake are modified to allow better "breathing", an improved TB can provide a very noticable improvement.
