Someone clarify:
According to the Ford website, Cleveland Engine Plant #2 makes the following engines:

2.49-liter V-6 Duratec: Ford Mondeo, Mercury Cougar and Mazda MPV

3.0-liter V-6 Duratec: Ford Taurus, Escape, Mercury Cougar and Mazda Tribute

3.0-liter V-6 DAMB: Jaguar S-TYPE and Lincoln LS

*Whats different between these two 3.0s? *What does DAMB stand for?
*Again, this is off a Genuine Ford webpage. I dont keep up with Cougars that much, but didnt know they also had the 3.0 available?

*Hightower, is your LS a V6 or V8? If its a 6, does it 'look' like a Taurus 3.0??

See it fer yeself: http://media.ford.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=2287

Making sense now. Now wondering why the 3.0 were not used in the Escape/Tribute lineup?

The V6 3.0 is used in the Escape XLT if you want. The Zetec is standard.

The Mercury site also says that the Cougar V6 (only talks about a 2.5L) comes with rear
drums and, as we all know, the V6 comes with the same rear discs as the Contour V6/SVT. There are also typos on there (no specifics), people mess up sometimes. I'd say if you can't buy a Cougar with a 3L, then they probably don't make a 3L for the Cougar.

You get drums in the rear with the ATX.

Doesn't the 3.0 in the Jag have a different intake/head setup? I thought that it had a better system of variable valve timing. Not sure though, anyone?

And with some of the early MTX V6 99s if you didn't buy the Sport package as well when you ordered ABS
