I hunted down your car on tuesday.
You should park in structure 5 (the smaller one next to 2) they have like 4 or 5 cameras per floor, and a security staff til midnight when it closes. And i think the spots are wider as well.
Edit: That was kind of a hijack, wasn't it. Sorry!
Damnit Amar!!! [continue hijack]What level do you park on? I prefer 1st or very top (as stated in my post). I can park there, I don't care... just an extra 100 yards to walk. [end hijack]

When given a choice, the 2 things that i look at are camera placement, and choosing a spot where only one other car can park next to you....that leaves about 10 quality spots per floor. In the winter i avoid the roof at all costs because everything on the car freezes and gets covered with snow. Structure 5 is also nice, because i know a lot of faculty parks there and there are a lot of nice cars ...

Ok, I'm not in college but I make sure my car is secure when I leave it. I'm also making sure if there is any cars around me and somewhat try to get a visual picture of each vehicle is around me (that would help for if someone decides to door your car). I DO NOT leave anything out in the open in my car, the littlest thing can get someone to break in a car. As for my "system" it's stealth so it'd be kinda hard for someone to take my speakers, cuz of them being in all 4 doors (I don't have subs just after market speakers that hit pretty decent, they still can shake my rear view mirror ) I also don't have a CD player head unit it's a tape deck. I gotta CD changer mounted in the trunk and the wire is hidden, and I too have my trunk locked so it can't be opened from the inside of the car, sometimes that's a PITA but it sure is worth it IMO.

Colleges usually have plenty of people out and about even at odd hours. A loud alarm w/ shock sensor, etc. is a good start as somebody may notice what's happening and if you're close enough, you may hear it yourself.

when i was a young kid,im now 44, strategic and secure placement of double sided razor blades made my stuff safe.they might get pissed and break another window etc....but if they reach under the dash and get a handful of ouchie, they reconsider.i never tried it with radar detectors etc.that might hurt you.remember any scum who tries to break into YOUR car should be punished...........

Hmmm.. I wonder if it is cheaper to fix an additional window or buy a new radio (or radar detector).

I can get a window for $15 from the "yards"..
though I don't agree with razors... I prefer.. shall we say, "other methods" as I have begun describing with Matt already via PM.

Still waiting to hear the details, Ray! All good (or at least interesting) suggestions - keep them coming! My alarm has a trunk pin in the hood ( even my fob flashes "trunk" when the hood is opened) , so basically I need to get to Best Buy and tell them to reroute it to the trunk. With the recent thefts I'll be making an appointment very soon to have this dealt with. Perhaps I'll just add a trunk pin and leave the one in the hood alone. No razors or anything that might hurt me when I'm driving the car. The car does get driven, haha. I commute to school so it's rarely on campus between midnight and 6AM. I have been taking my head unit faceplate with me, and now am hiding the audio wire that usually connects to my iPod (it pokes out underneath the head unit and hangs freely toward my e-brake).
