I want to take apart my headlights on my csvt so I can take out my reflectors. Is there any special way I should go about do that. Like how to take it apart, because I've tried before but I couldn't get to it. Thanks

You don't need to take them apart. Look in the stickies at the top of this forum for the how-to.

don't drill. use a cotter-pin extractor.

Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.

Where is this How-to? I couldn't find it? I've already cleared mine, but wanted to see a How-to, to see how different other people did their clearing.

CLASSVT and myself did ours together, and cursed the entire time. We took an old screw driver and hammered it into the shape that would enter the turn signal bulb and wrap around to the reflector. It kept wanting to scrath the silver reflector material so we wrapped the screwdriver up in paper towels and tape for cushion. We pried at the orange reflector until it snapped free, where I believe 3 of the 4 headlights we did left small portions of the reflector still attached when they broke. It was definitely a pain in the butt, so I'd like to see how others are doing it. I remember reading about people drilling holes into the headlight casing, but I didn't want to butcher them at the time. Had I only known I would go on to Hightower them.

how i did my old set was at the bottom you have to have a steady hand and eye, and judge where the tabs go in in the side and bottom and take a small drill bit and just go in far enough to hit the tab, then take a eyeglasses flatt head screw driver and tap the tabs out then it will be free then while its upside down above you take 2 pairs of needle nose plyers and break it apart carefully and remove the peices. like destroying a ship in a bottle. i only had 1 extremly small peice of orange left and you couldnt see it unless i showed you where it was.then where you drilled i used some hott glue and a small peice of duct tape to seal it

Exactly how I did 3 sets of headlights, Ryan. Can't go wrong with this, very easy! Just have to take it easy as to not be off kiltered and nip the side and cause a little gouge in the chrome. Three tiny holes, pops out, and break it up with some needle nose pliers. To get the tiny little pieces out, just used some compressed air and blow it out, you should be able to get 98% of it out easily.

Also took me all of 30 seconds to find in the FAQ.

How'd you align your headlights after that? Did you bring it somewhere?

I simply used pliers and various other tools stuck through the hole where the turn signal bulb goes to break the reflector in to small peices and remove.
