A supercharger kit has been completed on an ATX (CD4E) V6 Cougar over on NECO! So far, this is a one-off kit. What is needed at this point? High levels of interest to get this thing into some sort of mass production. As we all know, there is nothing available for us ATXer's in the F/I department! So lets get this rolling...

A bit of info about this kit is as follows:

This kit was designed by Alltune Engineering in Perth, Australia. A reputable NECO member has been in contact with the owner, Allenby, and plans are in the works to go through BATLGround for production here in the U.S.
A 1200AX SRM (Whipple) screw type compressor was used, putting down around 190HP at 3.7PSI, on a stock return-style fuel system. The setup also included a full water to air intercooler.
What will this kit work on? So far, ANY ATX Duratec 2.5L V6 Cougar, Contour, Mystique. There is no word about the MTX-75 yet, since all mounting hardware was designed around the CD4E.

Pretty clean looking setup with the one picture I looked at. Too bad the torque still isn't there. I do think that's pretty cool that they found someone to take interest in this platform!

Just found out some pretty bad news. Art Whipple(owner of Whipple) buys his supercharger cores from a company in Sweden, Lausch(sp?). They(Lausch) are a supplier for MBZ(kompressor models) and some other OE's. They've been back ordering everyone except OE's. Well, Whipple orders ~1000 units per month and can't get the cores on time.
Eaton and Mercruiser just recently bought out all stock from Lausch, and told Whipple that he no longer can buy/use their cores. Evidently it's in court right now, but Whipple has sent all employees home, out of work.

I wonder if this is going to hinder the production of these kits?

Whipple has been having some issues for quite a while. It's been known on the Lightning boreds for awhile, I believe they are in litagation for what your talking about, but I can't recall the specifics...

anybody know if these would be smog legal in cali? cause if they were then that would give us and any other state who follows our smog laws another f/i option besides vortech. for the guy who mentioned adapting it to the mtx, i am already dreaming about it.
