It's bad enough he absolutely fell on his ass in calling for the initial evacuations with Katrina, but with another nasty hurricane heading into the Gulf, he doesn't order a halt to the re-populations of people in New Orleans and chews into someone with enough grey-matter that does.
The reason? The new FEMA manage supposedly "overstepped" his bounds in demanding for the halt of the re-population work.
Let me get this straight:
1) He screws up and when a disaster of biblical proportions happens to his city, he screams, cries, cusses and yells that the Federal govt. didn't take enough "initiative" in saving his people and his city.
2) With another one potentially approaching and New Orleans in a desperately weakened position, he chews into the Federal govt. for showing "initiative" in halting the influx of people back into New Orleans. Hell, a mild storm surge is going to cause TONS of problems so it won't take a direct hit to turn N.O. into a concrete version of the Everglades again...
This moron needs to be drug out in the street and stoned.

I heard on the news today they are calling for the evacuation of new orleans again for fear of flooding
imho it was way to soon to let people back in anyway

He just wants to get people back into NO so he can get his hands on the $200 billion.  My mom was born and raised in NO, and that city is gone forever. Just watch as city and state officials begin to condemn, under "iminent domain," the east side and change the laws so casinos don't have to be over the water. NO's will become the Las Vegas of the south. Just watch!

But he looks like a genius compared to Farrakhan, who is claiming that the levees were destroyed in order to make black people suffer.
I've always wondered what our mayor would do in a time of crisis, and I'm guessing it's somewhere along the lines of what Nagin has done. Well, nevermind, she probably wouldn't do much of anything.

I was listening to some Malek (one of Farrahakan's cronies) guy yesterday on Hannity's talk show about how the US Government blew up the Maine, a ship in the Gulf of Tonkin, and now the levee's.
A little OT, but supposedly Farrakan believes there is a "Mother Wheel" hovering ov er the Earth, and this 'Mother Wheel" sent him down after he met with Elijah the Prophet.
Why do people believe these kooks?

the story i saw on CNN said he did halt the return of people to the city and also ordered an evacuation. this MSN story is misleading and so is your post. and it's funny to me how people line up to bash this elected official for mistakes due to an unpredictable storm, but when the highest elected official in the land rushes into a screw up of enormous proportions all of sudden you're anti-american for bashing him.

"mistake" isn't the word to use with this moron. (Please, throw the race card at me now since he's black mayor). I could dig up the pictures of the hundreds of school buses under water that is written into their evacuation plan.... Second, "unpredictable storm" is another word that doesn't equate.
