My Tour will be gone after I graduate, BUT in the meantime. I'm lookin for something to get me through. Right now I have my door speakers (kenwood components) powered with a Pioneer amp which is good and all but I want something a little better. I have my door speakers (what do you guys call it, pig tailed?) Anyways, I don't have a fader, it's only left and right. So with this new amp I'm gonna power those, and then bridge the remaining 2 channels to run my 12" Polk.
I'd like to stay under 150. And yes, I know you can't get much for that but like I said I'm in college and when you're paying $22k a year you don't have a lot of extra $$$. So the best thing I've found so far is this:

This looks ok...but "It's GInormous"

Just wanted to know if you could push me in direction or the other, or even suggest an alternative. I'm leaning towards the Hifonics because it seems everyone is a fan of their amps...

which pioneer amps do you have ?? depend of which power the pioneer amps you should use it for powering your 12" and use the 4channel for your 4speaker. since most of the 4ch amps have a RCA out you can plug the sub's amp by there.

The Hifosonics seem a better deal since you will have probably around 50RMS per ch in 4ohm and the kicker about half (that enough for your pioneer but maybe not for the kenwood.

something that i found really interesting for the price is the alpine MRP-F240 (149.99$) with 40RMS X 4ch in 4ohm is a really good choice for the speaker.

I only have 1 Pioneer 760w max. It's running my door speakers. It's a 2-channel, I guess I didn't say that clear enough. I sold it, and want a 4 channel. So I can use 2 of the channels to power all 4 sets of kenwood components. (remember I have them pigtailed) And then the remaining 2 channels will be bridged to power my sub. Get it?

I do like the Alpine name...Just sold my most recent Alpine HU.

by puting 4 speaker on 2 ch will make you loose quality since you will drive your amplifier in 2 ohm.. up to you but its not something i will do.

Had no choice. The speaker wire running from my HU to the rear left speaker is fried. It doesn't work. So had to splice it in with the front left.
Too much work to rewire it all. Maybe I can fix it this summer, but for now while I'm at school I don't have time for much but homework and studying.

doesnt mater with your 4ch amp all your speakers will be wired directly to your amps and not your HU, so anyway you will have to re-wire it

I don't think you understand...but that's not the point of this thread.
I was looking for suggestions on the amp I should buy.
I think I'm going for the Hifonics.

No SQ should be lost in any amp at 2 ohm Stereo, at least not a noticeable one from 4 ohm stereo. However, not being able to fade front/rear is a disaster in itself. Nothing like bad imaging. Get a 5 channel amp, or dont power your rears. It may be loud but not exactly appealing.

Soundstream - not something I would own, but better solution then combining front/rears
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=15082

better choice
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=12980

Today's lesson:

SoundStream = 60A fuse rating means you'll get about 700 watts total

Voltage x amps = Watts (14.4 x 60A fuse rating) = 864 most amps are 70-80% efficient.

PG has 80A fuse rating

Do not bother reading the manufactures power claims especially when purchasing a sub $200 amplifier.

Those are some big@ss amplifiers Knu!!
Taking my dvd player out is a pain in the backside. And then to run new wire to my rear left door...
Grrrr that's a lot of work for me. I can do it all, it just sucks wasting an entire afternoon doing it.
Thanks for the suggestions!
