I can't believe nooone mentioned the incredibly weak diff.

If you peel out it will start to wheel hop. Do that too many times and your diff may not make it very long.

I've gone through two in about 3 years. If it blows buy a quaife, then you won't have to worry anymore, but it's not a cheap fix.

My .02

151.00 per side (already pre-pressed NEW hub w/bearing) plus 30 minutes to yank and swap, each. That's the MOST it will cost. If you go the "press a new bearing in to an old hub" way, its bearing cost(60?) plus one hour of labor. to press it.

I HIGHLY recommend you buy the new hub w/ bearing already installed...

My brother and I thought we would put new front bearings in my 96 GL. He brought his bearing tool from work figuring it wouldn't be too hard. Let's just say he had plenty tiny chunks of metal in his arms... NOT FUN!

Wow! This is a lot of information, and it's JUST what I was looking for.

As for clutches, I'll have to remember about that--though I probably wouldn't be happy with a stock clutch, even under stock power. The first car I ever drove was a 1931 Model A Ford...and my first car had an extremely stiff clutch.

I'm not saying I want a 300 lb clutch pedal, but if I want something with some real feel to it, any suggestions?

Wheel bearings and diff don't surprise me to much...and from what I've seen Quaife seems to be the best answer to every question!

Thanks all! If there's more, by all means keep it coming.
