I got in my car the other day fired it up and then realized that the steering has real hard, so after driving about 200 yards I shut it off opened the hood and checked for leaks. None to be found, plenty of power steering fluid in the reservoir. Closed the hood got back in and it was fine no problems. But its started to get worse. It now happens everyother time I drive the car. I'm completely lost at what could be wrong. Any suggestions?

Maybe air in PS system. Bleed by turning steering from lock to lock a few times. Then try again after a few hours.

Possibly the belt slipping?

So, I "bled" the power steering and it took about an ounce of fluid, still no leaks. But power steering will just all of the sudden go out. Then next time I start it, it will be fine for about 5 miles, then it goes out. Any suggestions?

It seems like there is a pressure relief valve as part of or perhaps on the output port of the pump. If it is sticking it may be bleeding off pressure sometimes. I'm not sure of this, so you will need to do some more research.

"Then try again after a few hours." (as in, do the air bleeding procedure again).
