I have had my 3L running with a stock exhaust and old original cats for about 6K KM. I would say overall the 3L was a decent upgrade over my stock 2.5L you could feel lots of low end torque and it was fun to drive. I got a gutted my manifolds and got my y-pipe optimized and a full 2.5" exhaust from the y-pipe back with a magnaflow 11226 muffler in between. I can't beleive the difference, it pulls so hard up top now it's addictive. It literally is a night and day difference. So if you have a 3L on stock exhaust or even an SVT exhaust you are in for a big surprise when you upgrade it. The car used to lose power around 4800 rpm and it would be hardly making any power up to redline, now it's pulling progressivly harder right up to 7000. I'm just happy and I thought I would share.

i noticed a huge improvment when i went to 2.5" madrel exhaust and optimized y as well, its amazing how you can actually feel the difference, even on a mostly stock car, so much restriction in that stock setup.

Glad to see the manifolds worked out for you Avery.

I'll have mine all chipped and ready to go in a cpl weeks.

Once I'm done, we'll have to see if there is any difference between the taurus and contour intake manifolds in terms of 'real world performance'

Who did your exhaust?

touredon for sure. Good luck getting it all finished up.

Well I got a good "benchmark" today looks like I have a slight edge on my buddies 2004 Infinity G35 6 Spd Coupe, he can pull on stock G35 Coupes. All he really has done is 350Z intake tube and 3/8" intake manifold spacer. BTW I did not test this on the street. He's going twin turbo soon, it's going to be a scary ride soon enough.
