When i think of rap, i think of how good someone is lyrically. so i would have to say jadakiss, d-block, and jae hood. Cassidy is very nice on the mic. he does lots of freestyles. the beats are slow and not heavily played on the radio. there is this song that jadakiss makes about 50 cent because he was calling him out on that piggy bank song.. so jadakiss made a rap and its nice.. im sure you can find it on the internet by just putting in "50 cent diss, jadakiss"

lol i love that rap by jadakiss! Im not big on rap but I hate fitty cent. Seems like eminem and dre are running that show.
Still got to have respect for dre, snoop, some of eminems newer stuff, Nas, i liked old dirty bastard back in his day. Busta rhymes had a good run for a bit. Cant forget Tupac, Notorious BIG, hmmmm kinda dating myself a bit. Than again alot of this new stuff is just sad.....

I read the first few posts in this thread, and decided to skip the rest, because many people don't know what constitutes a good hip-hop song. my only advice is to look towards underground artists, they have the least to lose and the most to gain, so they're usually really original and have very "deep" lyrics. lots of stuff to get your mind working if you're willing to listen
