I've had a bad creaking noise in the past few days with my Aussibar - wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. I got under the car briefly last night, but long enough to see that the problem is that the bar is contacting and rubbing the subframe. My suspicion is that the brackets on the subframe that hold the bar (the parts to which the clamps bolt) have bent - maybe they aren't up to the load. By the way, I ended up using the new clamps that came with the larger bushings - connected with 10.9 grade hardware but not welded (search on a note I posted about 2 weeks ago). It didn't creak at first - definitely something that has changed in the past few days. I'll take a closer look tonight and see what happens when I release the end links. Any ideas?

Eric: Why don't you give me a call? I'll take a look at it for you if you can make it over to my place this weekend. You might be interested to see that motor-I've started tearing it down.

Just got in from the garage - false alarm - the filing the I had done to be able to use the larger clamps didn't go quite far enough and so there wasn't as much clearance as their needed to be - as the bar/clamps/brackets settled in the clearance was reduced further. I went back at it with a file, pushed the bar as far forward as I could while tightening the aft bolt, and then tightened the forward bolt. I'll see tomorrow if that has fixed it.

Thanks for the offer Brad. I'll give you a shout if I get some time, but I'm supposed to help my brother in law move this weekend plus have some things planned with the kids. I am interested in seeing the engine at some point.

Glad to hear you solved it Eric. Mine is okay so far but I still plan on upgrading to the stronger brackets when I get some time.

BTW, I got alot of seat time in my friends shifter kart this weekend. I'm battered and bruised but what a blast - gotta get one for next year!
