i watched a program about that on the discovery health channel. they are rebuilding her face with many surgeries as she gets older. very sad but iirc they said when they are done she will look fairly normal. also iirc the baby girl is a couple of years old now.

Wow, a warning to anyone who watches it, it is very emotional and disturbing. It is good to see that the parents can cope with the defect ok, and the kid seems like a happy little girl. I'm glad that she is getting reconstrucive surgeries, and they seem to be going good.  Best of luck to her and her family.

 that is so sad...that poor little girl....that story brought a tear to my eye while i'm sitting here watching my 1yr. old eat lunch.... i can only imagine how hard it has been on her parents....

That was absolutely heartbreaking. But I am also glad that the parents never once gave up on her. It must be very difficult for them. I can't even imagine how they feel.

dude, i hear you. my stoic nature and hard outer shell has earned me the description of insensitive more than once but when i watched the show on the discovery health channel my thought was "thats so sad."
