After 6 or 7 years my Tour had the common problem of a crappy looking steering wheel, the gray coloring had rubbed off on the edges. So I got a leather Wheelskin lace-up cover for $29. Wheelskins had sent me some sample pieces of the black, 2 different gray, and red leather, but I decided the red and grays just weren't a close enough color match, so I went with plain black.
Installation was supposed to take an hour, after a couple second-guesses and screwups around the wheel spokes I think it took me more like 1.5 or 2 hours. They recommend gloves because you have to pull the lacing tight to make the cover fit well. It wasn't bad for me until the end, when I did put a glove on my right hand. I took my time and it fits very well, it's extremely tight and looks like it could be factory. It's so tight the finger indentations on the back of the wheel are still prominent. Went for a test drive and it feels really good while driving, and looks 100% better.
The pics, a little blurry because my camera wouldn't focus well in the twilight:
