OP lizard CEG\'er L Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 451 rockford michigan	is it possible to repair a subwoofer with a blown voice coil. the speaker is a power acoustik 12" 2 ohm dual voice coil 2000 contour V6 ATX BAT suspension kit, k&n filter, SVT TB, SVT UIM, SVT LIM, MSDS headers, MSDS Y-pipe, SVT dual exhaust, Custum burned ADC chip, 7000k HID's, 200 amp HO alt, custom gauges, and 17" rims

BrApple_dup1 Hard-core CEG'er B Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 6,910 Enfield, CT	depends I guess I had a sun that the lead wire broke that went to the voice coil, I removed the paper center in the cone and repaired it with some wire, didn't last a great long time and I had to do it again but it did work - 95 Mystique LS - Zetec/5spd - 99 Contour SeVT Sport - Duratec/5spd Official NE-CEG Contour/Mustang Family

Honkeytonk Monkey Hard-core CEG'er H Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 3,264 Saskatoon, Saskatchewan	You can have the sub reconed. basically they reinstall the VC, cone and put a new surround on it, Generally speaking it's not always cost effective, but if you had a HT using older drivers and one popped, reconing is nice option to have. There may be a place local to you that can get the driver reconed. I was quoted $60 to recone my Clarion Pro Audio X2 a while back.
