Hello,

Based on the advice from this forum, I recently purchased/installed my very own KKM for my 98 SVT. It worked out well and I'm really enjoying it... laugh my question is, how will this effect the service on the car? I've heard others say that you should definitely change back to stock airbox when you take it in. My vehicle however, is no longer under warranty, so it's not as if they can complain about that. What is our local friendly ford dealer going to say when they see it? Refuse service? Or just not guarantee their work, or what?

Thanks again guys!

I kinda depends on the dealer. I have an open air filter like the KKM. When I took my car in for the cooling fan recall, I didn't have any problem (I guess since the cooling fans are unrelated to the air filter.

If you are out of warranty, then it does not matter, as youare going to pay for whatever service you have done regardless.

It's "touche" (supposed to be an accent on the e but the Dreamcast doesn't like that smile ) My Ford dealer actually sells K&N filters so they musn't mind them that badly. I just got a KKM so I kind of want to see what they say about it. After that I'm getting my exhaust redone and buying a chip. I always get the oil done there because it's just plain easier than doing it my self ( the damn filter is a pain in the A$$!!! ) And no matter how much I think I know about the car, the mechanics they have at my dealership are better than me and don't screw people around so that's where it gets repairs done.
