ok im getting the block here soon and im getting 9:1 cr pistons to be cappable of running boost. now about the t/c: is it going to be a ball-bearing and have a good blow-0ff valve? i still plan on running a 100 shot of nos as well. so if the t/c will be too new will i be better off going w/a s/c "all this is for daily driving". and finally about the returnless fuel shizit, the calibrater we spoke about wil fool it to release more fuel. (the reason y i ask all this is im trying to fit my budget the best way) thanks

k-fabe,

Brad's not doing the turbo, I am. It will have ball bearings, and a BOV. I would not recommend NOS with the setup. It has VATN so the lag is virtually elimminated.

Lower comp pistons will allow for higher boost though.

The turbo will be fine for daily driving as well.

Where do you get 9:1 pistons and how much?

Yeah, I got some bolt-ons.

You need to have them custom made. Contact one of the piston companies, like JE, and see how much they want for each one. I was pricing them and they are about $175 each for forged lower compression pistons. About the same price for Crower rods as well. I think Duttweiler used Ferea Rods on The Beast. I hear there are some companies who might have rods or pistons ready (something you can just call in and order) before this kit is done. Right now, you have to take measurements of the stock pistons (I dont know how) and/or send them a stock piston, and just tell them what you want the new compression ratio to be. 9:1 is pretty good, but Im thinking more along the lines of 8.5:1 or even 8:1 instead. Although the latter might make the car weak when not on boost (sucky for daily driver, but you sure as hell would be able to boost it!!!!!) I will buy the kit, but i wont be satisfied with the boost our engine is capable of handling bone stock. I want to boost over 1 Bar maybe 1.5 Bar, who knows (1 Bar = ~14psi)......
