In searching I've noticed a number of CSVT's that have trailer hitches on them, but everyone seems to have bought their car with it already on there. I'm interested in towing a small trailer I have, but I can't seem to find anywhere that sells a hitch for the CSVT. I realize this is because it technically has no towing capacity, but obviously somebody has figured out someway to get one on there.

As an alternative, does anyone with the hitch want to sell it?

Hidden Hitches

The CSVT can tow just over 1000lbs.. and it's pretty good at it, too. Not sure if they still sell them, or not.

I called Hidden Hitch, but they don't make one for the SVT. From you're .pdf instructions, are you saying that the regular Contour hitch will work? From that original post, it looks like he had to drill a few holes, but I didn't initially think that meant he used a regular Contour hitch. That would be awesome if that is the case.

I'd send a PM to Kerrychin, he's still on here occasionally (I think). I can't tell you one thing or another for sure. My original 98.5 CSVT had a Trailer hitch when I bought it. I removed it shortly afterwords after transfering a pair of Jet Skis. I do know that it was "Hidden Hitches" brand and was a very clean and hardly noticeable install. It also came off pretty easy, too.

I may or may not still have it. I took it off my first CSVT 2 years ago and put it in the garage and it's been there from what I can remember ever since. I've since moved from there (my Aunt's house) about 5 months ago. I'll head out to her house sometime this week and see if it's still in there. If so, it's yours free of charge.

I'm not 100% sure if the SVT or Regualr Tour' use the same hitch or not, as I've never bought one (came on the car). Some websites I checked otu for ya list thier hitch as 98-00 Contour- except SVT. Some list all years with no exceptions. All I know is, the one I had look the smae as the one pictured on the Black CSVT in that one link. I'll PM you or update this thread when I know if I still have it.
