Just wondering if glass packs would sound good on a contour (1996 SE, 2.5 L)? Perhaps it might even add a little power, with no muffler and all...

why, no glaspacks? no cherry bombs no 1 3/4 core glasspacks I understand. but you can get glasspacks with up to a 3inch core from jc whitney theres a perfect 24 inch one with a 2 1/4 inch core. how could this flow bad? my bronco was quiter with to glasspacks for its dules than with the two chamber flowmaster. can't beat the price either.

Because the "Nice" ones (retains inner diameter and uses quality perferated tubing) are called bullet resonators. Glass packs are the old school smaller ID units... So no glass packs.. :p

:pExactly......Glass Packs are cheap-sh!t versions of Dynomax Bullet Resonators. Do yourself a favour and spend the extra $10-$15 and by the Bullets. And yes use the search in the Performance section to find out all the stuff about this subject that has already been said.

I had one put in to quiet the exhaust after putting headers on, my only big gripe is that it talks to me: "tink...tink.tink.t.tink" You know, metallic expansion and contraction noise due to the changes in temperature. I don't know if it's the actual glasspack, or if it has to do with being welded to stainless steel piping. You have been warned. "Borla, please, please build me a replacement. I swear I will never let my shop cut up your exhaust ever again!"

No glass packs, they burn out slowly and get noisier. Buy a high flow staged muffler of some sort that has permanent welded tubing and baffles - no fiberglass.
