My friend has a M3 and I am tired of him completly losing me on the back roads.... Does the contour SVT have any mods out there to give me hope to keep him in sight? I have about 2,500.00 to spend.... Help please :p
welcome aboard! where in md are you? be sure to drop in the cap ceg.
you might want to try the search function to read up on some mods. try "spring" "lower" strut" "sway" "suspension" in the various sections - general mods, suspension, etc.
i think most have gone the eibach/koni route. i'm told a rear sway bar makes a huge difference as well.
good luck!

Don't take this the wrong way, but the best place to start is tightening up the nut behind the wheel.
Take a good driving school class if you can. Bondurant is excellent, as is the Skip Barber classes, and others. Learn about how cars behave when subjected to different inputs, and how things are different in different types of cars. Learn it in a practical environment, where you can go out and try it on a closed course. YOu will get significantly faster, and any suspension improvements you make after that will net a greater improvement, and it will help you to understand what things you want to try to do to improve suspension.
I agree, It is with out a doubt that the SVT can hang or even out handle a M3 with the right driver behind the wheel. Up to this date my friend who has like a 97 BMW M3, still can't beat me at Solo 2 events and 1 SOLO 1 event for nearly 8 months already. He's been doing these events for awhile but still unable to beat me. So understand that the SVT is definately a capable car in the right hands. I've gone to racing school here in Hawaii, my friend is an extremely good race car driver, he even raced in Cali when he lived there, he might possibly be even going to Japan to race in those circuits, but the point is I take notes and ask ?'s and learn from these drivers and put it to work, that's how you become a better driver, plus as they say "practice makes perfect," well eventually it'll be experience that'll pay off. "YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW!!!" A little or even a lot of GT3 won't hurt either......
