I've had my CSVT for almost 3 weeks and besides a CEL because of an o2 sensor gone south, everything seems to be ok, I replaced the sensor and the cel never came back, I do have a doubt, When I'm driving in "gas saving mode", meaning I try to shift before 3k rpm and I press the gas moderatly at about 1500rpm (lets say I'm on second gear) the car sttuters baddly, kinda like when trying to overtake someone on fifth gear going 20 miles an hour

I know some of this behavior shoud be normal but it seems a bit excesive, so this is my question, how normal is this? I thought it may had to do with the cams configuration or something but the car is stock enginewise besides an unknown brand conic filter with no heat barrier (maybe heatsoak could be the culprit?)

I just changed the plugs and the seemed fine (neither lean or rich), the wires looked fine to me, changed the oil also... the car has about 30k miles. It doesn't matter if the car is cold or hot. Secondaries seem to be opening when the should, about 3900 rpms.

so... what do you guys think?? clean the EGR? MAF? or maybe intake manifolds?

Thanks!

I would suggest that you start putting a bottle of HEET (or gas stabilizer) in the tank. Then change the fuel filter as it probably hasn't been changed before.

is it only on the throttle or is it in idle as well. It could have something to do with IAC being filled with carbon junk. Or your entire manifold even.

If you're playing with the intake and have it off. open the trottle body and look down. A friend of mine had a tahoe and it ran like crap and died because the tottle plate was blocked Cleaned it out and the truck right 1000 times better (gee I wonder why)

Just some thoughts to take into consideration.

Thanks guys, I'll think I'll change the fuel filter, as you said I don't think it has ever been changed...

The jerking only occurs when accelerating from low rpms up to 2000rpms, and it feels like I was trying to accelerate too hard from those rpms and the car was about to stal.

I have been driving manual cars all my life and this seems a tad excesive, every other car I've had that I try this kind of driving would just accelerate veeeery slowly from that engine speed, but never jerk like the csvt.

BTW it idles just fine, about 750 steady rpms, no fluctuation whatsoever.

So did you replace the fuel filter? did it fix your problem? The problem that my friend's having with his 96' GL contour MTX is it's so slow! And the throttle response is way off.

Nope, not yet, I'll post if it made any difference or not.
