I have searched the forum and I know what can cause this code, but here is my problem: The check engine light will only come on for about 1 day then go off for about 2-3 weeks, and of course come back on again. Can this narrow down the possible causes for this code? Thanks.

Intermittent code. PCM detected problem, stayed in memory. After a few drive cycles, PCM turns it off when the problem is gone. If it is the EGR, it could be partially clogged or vacuum leak. Do the EGR suck test to narrow down the possibilities.
