â??Welcome. Next time you should post in Troubleshooting Forum and you will get many replies.
It is not typical for I4 Zetecs to be at "L".
For the overheating problem, it could be many things.
1) Buy a $5 coolant tester from Autozone and check for coolant strength. You may have to drain and flush the coolant ($20).
2) Thermostat could be bad, check or replace ($7).
3) Water pump could be broken, this is a little more expensive ($100).
4) Radiator outside could be dirty. Clean the outside.
Radiator inside could be clogged up. New radiator could be $200.
Also, is your oil level low? That could cause overheating too. Did you changed the filter too, when you changed the oil?
If you do a Search, Troubleshooting, and put in "overheating", All Posts, it will come up with all previous posts on this subject. In addition, we have "how-tos" in our FAQ and Duratec Maintenance Forums FAQ.
