when i start my car i hear a ticking noise and when i accelerate in the first 3 gears. can it be the timing belt, idling belt, or something totally different?

does it change sound anytime etc? Could just be noisy injectors.

SVT/Duratec V6 = no timing belt.
Serpentine Belt on passenger side and Water Pump belt on driver's side of engine.

well... i do have a custom exhaust and i can hear the ticking noise over there, it usually stops when i hit around 5k rpm.
It doesnt get louder, it remains the same throughout it's ordeal.

correction, the ticking gets louder and faster as the RPMs get higher. its awfully annoying and is pissing me off cause i bought the car less then 2 weeks ago  and now the new HU i put in is making this awful whiny noise. ya as u can see nothing is going right and [censored]

If you had mentioned this on your first post, everybody would have told you to check the wiring.

well i guess i'll find out what the ticking noise was since i broke down on the highway on the way home from work tonight  a guy that helped me said it might be a broken camshaft or lift... great after 12 days of owning this beast, this [censored] happens.

well goodyear says it might be a blown motor, estimated repairs... 2k. Well im kinda pissed, but good thing i bought that warrenty (hopefully it covers a blown motor those SOBs) and next stop is me shoving my foot up the dealer's ass. had the car for less then 2 weeks, and a blown [censored] motor, hmmmm....
