when i start my car i hear a ticking noise and when i accelerate in the first 3 gears. can it be the timing belt, idling belt, or something totally different?

does it change sound anytime etc? Could just be noisy injectors.

And call 1-800-Ford-SVT for your production number.

SVT/Duratec V6 = no timing belt.

Serpentine Belt on passenger side and Water Pump belt on driver's side of engine.

well... i do have a custom exhaust and i can hear the ticking noise over there, it usually stops when i hit around 5k rpm.

It doesnt get louder, it remains the same throughout it's ordeal.

If you had mentioned this on your first post, everybody would have told you to check the wiring.

From Ford CD

"Check for presence of all required suppression equipment, radio frequency interference suppression bond and radio receiver hood bonding strap (if so equipped) for security, cleanliness and metal-to-metal connection."
