alright... i noticed earlier while i was under the car with it running that at idle is always changing. i didnt think it did this but i never really listend to it closely. does anyone have like a guide to clean the iac. also am i going to have to get a new gasket also? what to clean it with? PICS are good too

From Ray's UIM/LIM rebuilding in the Duratec Main. FAQ.
"If you are careful enough, replacement of the gasket will not be necessary. The gasket costs less than US $1.00, so it is no tragedy if you destroy it. Once the valve is off, spray it out with some carb/intake cleaner and make sure any gunky residue is gone. Reattach, and you are done. It is a lot cheaper than a new IAC, which runs around US $70. Note: Ford claims the IAC cannot be cleaned, but this is not true in my experience."

ok guys, disreguard this post, ive just figured out that i have already changed the iac, brand new one ($65). didnt know it had 2 names.  if its not that then why is idle still jacked up

EGR can cause it (if you have a pre98) but it usually throws a CEL.
Most likely a vacuum leak if no CEL.
Or very unlikely, a TB butterfly that doesnt close all the way.
