Hello fellow CGR's:

I had a question. Does anyone know, visually, how much thread will show at top (on the adjustment screw) for the various degrees of secondaries' openess? For example, how much thread will show for stock position/7 degrees open/etc etc? Is there a good rule of thumb anyone has come up with? I have searched all entries for secondaries but details pertaining to exact screw position (visually) are not very in-depth. Details like measuring points or amount of thread showing. Thankyou in advance!

I adjusted mine with the lower intake outside the car, so I could SEE how much the butterflies were open. What I thought was a good amount translated to having the screw about 2/3 - 3/4 of the way threaded in.

I have noticed that the motor is a little weaker in torque under 1500 rpms, but a LOT stronger above that until the secondaries fully open.

Use the Search (it's even larger now) laugh

The SVT DOES NOT like the secondaries cracked... You will experience bad drivability problems below secondary activation.

I'd look into having them open earlier.

This will definitely be a trial and error type tuning stage. Also you'll need a rpm trigger switch of some kind. (or a custom chip)

Yeah, what Lance said. I started with my screw all the way in, but have backed it out about 3-4 turns for some noticable gains in low end.

Thanks guys for the posts so far - After searching the forums on the topic and seeing what others had gotten, I decided to adjusted my 2nds a bit. It's been about 2 weeks or so since I've done this. I opened them up by a few degrees (I believe)/about 1.25 complete screw rotations upwards. I have seen that it does take a little from low end torque below 2nd's opening but improves switchover hump and full-throttle jumps a little. I have also noticed that it strengthens engine bucking, though, when bucking occurs. My results seem very typical of what everyone else was getting, especialy DemonSVT's. I was actually trying to get a visual reference for the screw's "stock" position and other known "degree'd" positions so I could guage where I was at currently. Keep 'em coming! smile

If you have read the previous posts.

You will find all with SVT's that tried have the drivability problems. The further you increase it the worse it gets.
However with that said; I personally liked mine with the secondaries pinned open.
But don't know if I'd do it for day to day driving (Only helps from about 2500 to secondary activation and during power shifting) But you do lose some noticeable cruising and normal driving torque.

The std duratec's all seem to perk up the bottom end above 2000-2500 until secondary activation (3800)
