I am looking for a decent digital camera for somewhere around $200 being the max.... i am lookin for something that obviously takes good pics, takes video w/ sound, and i would like it to be a smaller camera that would fit in the pocket nicley without adding to much weight. Just point me in the direction of something good... because i am sick of using this crap digital cam that used to be my grandpas old one. Thanks in advance for any help.

Is the video aspect that important versus having a separate video camera? The reason I ask is that in the lower price ranges, you are likely to sacrifice a lot to get it.

I like my kodak. Seems it was the best price out of comparable cameras. It's probably a bit lower than you want, so I won't bother with the model number, but check out kodaks. I've been very happy with mine. Definitely don't buy polaroid.

i had a kodak, it was ok. it was supposedly 5mp but didnt produce like my sony 5mp. sony is the shizzle but too damned expensive, for the camera AND the memory. Canon seems to be the next best thing to Sony. Nikon is good too but i havent heard too much about their point and shoot models. i know their SLR stuff is top notch. i have sold many different types of digital cameras and i can tell you that any brand you have actually heard of will be ok. i learned that if you buy the bomb camera for $500, one year later it will be $250. right now, digital cameras are so farking cheap you might as well buy something low end and just upgrade as the prices drop on the higher end models. i cant believe sony has already dropped the prices on models quite recently released. rather uncharacteristic of sony. their prices on cameras seem to hold for quite awhile. they must have some serious shiz coming out for Christmas. i cant wait! i can smell the $$ already!

BAM.... Exactly.
Grab the 5mp Cybershot for a steal and revel in the quality you receive from your new purchase.

Highly recommend either the Sony Cybershot (I have the P10, friends have the P8, T1, and L1, parents have P200 and an older Cybershot, V-series?) or any Canon model. Both brands produce absolutely stellar pics, and I haven't heard of a dissatisfied customer from either -- well, except those whose cameras have broken on them. My sister has some Fujifilm or something that works well, but eats batteries - the batteries die before the memory card is filled!

Here ya go! Fits the bill all way 'round & I can tell you it's a great camera. PM me for the CR ratings for 5mp cameras. Kodak 7530 I currently have access to three Kodaks, two Sonys, two Olympus, and a Nikon. The Nikon & Kodaks make the best pictures & are easier to use. The Olympus make very good pictures too, have lots of features, but are complex & cumbersome to use, and can be pricey. The Sonys are OK with a good feature set, but you can get better picutres for the money. At that price, Kodak all the way.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
