Check real carefully. Is the blower blowing on low or not at all?
It's probably the wiring/resistor pack problem listed under "Common Problems"
While on the subject, I've had my 99 Contour SE into the local shop once for a blower motor and a resistor pack, (at first I only had high and low fan speeds available, but then the motor died and I got absolutely nothing.) that was about a year ago.
About two weeks ago the fan started operating at "Low" regardless of switch position.
The dealer claims that the warranty recalls listed on
http://www.contour.org/FAQ/FAQ.php?s=probs&displayid=23 do not abbly to my car because it is a 1999. I say they are full of s**t.
to quote the repair bill, "Verify cust. concern. Perform pinpoint tests and and diag found bad blower switch. connector melted to switch. Replace blower switch and connector. Roadtest and retest. oOK at this time."
Do I have any recourse at this point other than calling the credit card company and disputing the charge?
