I'm going over to Detroit on Friday. If there is enough interested, I can bring back some can's of R134a with me.

It will be the one sold by Advanced Auto Parts, Interdynamics brand, that contains the stop leak. Each can is 368g (13oz). If your system is completly empty, 3 cans should fill it. If the pressure is low, 2 cans are usually enough. Part Source sells the fill hose, but if needed I can pick up a couple of them too. The cost is $20CDN/can.

I still have about 8 cans left from the case I bought a month ago, but I want to keep a few for myself. If there is enough interested, I will get another case on Friday.

How hard is it to use the refill cans?

I had my system charged this summer and it didn't last 2 days, the dye was traced to the evaporator. Would the refills with stop-leak be worth a go, or is the leak probably too major to even try?

With the re-fill tube, it's very easy to recharge.

If your system leaked out in 2 days, your leak is probably too large for the stop leak to seal. You would have to pull the dash and chenge the evaporator seals or the evaporator itself.

The 19 oz can (Part no. 7010015) comes with the refill tube and gauge for US$21.48. Just got one at Advanced Auto today. Everything is now.

Tony,

Here in Canada, R134a is not sold to the general public. The AC shops chanrge an arm and a leg to refill a system.
I'm only trying to help out some of the local owners with refilling there system.

So far the interest is not really worth for me to buy another case. If there is anyone else interested, leave a message on this thread and I will check it from Detroit.
