My 98 LS was just 7 years old. I'm an old guy (56) and love this car so I got it a subwoofer. An 8in amplified Bazooka. I tried it different places and wound up putting it behind the back seat. I control it with a Kenwood MPV-8025 and together with tthe 4 Pioneer 6X8's it makes a nice low budget system. I am no expert by any means but it installed in a half hour and I do not experience any problems with the sound transmitting into the cabin. I do not like "thump" just a nice lower end to suppliment the Pioneers. One question. I set the HPF to 125 and the LPF to 80HZ does this sound about right? It sounds great to me.

I do not post often but lurk a lot. I never miss an opportunity to praise this car. It has been basically trouble free (Alternator replaced) and has remained a blast to drive. I will retire in a couple years and am really struggling already with what to replace it with. right now I'm leaning towards a Focus with the slightly larger engine. I however can't seem to imagine not having that wonderfull V6. Maybe a Mustang? Take care CEG'ers !

I did change my Mystique (V6 ATX) for a 2k5 Focus ST - wow! Suspension is incredible, the ST engine is strong and willing.. to put it simply, the Focus is a blast to drive. I really liked (loved!) my Mystique - after all, it made me buy the Focus, which is a.. a.. um.. FORD! (gasp!), but I like the Focus even more..

What I miss from the Mystique: that insane growl at 6500 rpm, the length of the seat cushion, the relative invisibility when I came into radar-range..

What gives the ST its advantage: fuel economy when I'm easy on the throttle - thus expanded range, suspension settings - smoother than the FSVT, much stiffer than the base Focus, telescoping steering wheel. And since it's a MTX, my butt dyno tells me it's also quicker than the Mystique, but I still get good mileage!

At 41, I thought my small-cars days were over, but obviously, they're not!

Where are these high and low-pass filters you have set? They must not be on the same signal because you would be getting no sound at all. Is the low-pass on the sub output from the deck and the high-pass on the 4 Pioneer's? If so then you're ok. I'd suggest maybe lowering the high-pass filter on the Pioneer's down to 80, but there is no requirement to do so.

Oh, and my '98 CSVT will be having it's birthday on August 19. Maybe our cars met outside the factory? Wait, no my car will be 8 yrs old (born August 19, 1997)
