Not much else to say, except that I am no longer going to go for the 3L/Turbo and the entire build of the car...
I ordered the kit in March, and ADC is just now finishing it up. Should be done in a few weeks...
I guess I just don't have it anymore in me. Coupled with this, with my payplan at Porsche I am able to jump into a 911 and pay around 500/month with around 10-15 grand down. That is the same amount that I was going to put into the SVT.
I guess the last straw was missing out on buying Suneil's car... I could not bid because I have committed to buying the kit from ADC, and if I did not, I would forfeit my $2500 down payment... To think that I could have bought his car for 10500, swapped all the parts out from the two cars and then sold one of them for like 5000-6000 just kills me. I could have had my dream machine for 5000-6000 PAINTED!!!
Sorry to say, buy my appetite has since vanished.
I am not going to sell my SVT. In fact, I am going to put on all the parts that I wanted to install during the Turbo install. I have new wheels, brakes, seats and whatnot. After that, I am officially done.
In June of next year I am either going to buy a new 911 or a pre-owned 996 911 Turbo... In either case, the SVT is not going anywhere. It will most likely become my everyday driver as soon as my X5 finds a new home...
It is what it is, and I must say that I also am dissappointed that I did not get to build the dream CSVT...

Dude, all the sweat you put into that car, all the times you've fought to be a part of this family because of your love for the car and now you post this....... Why don't you take the money invest it into a Lightning and let us watch you get spunk at the track

You are gonna put down 10 to 15 grand and pay 500 a month on a 911? You must get paid some sweet money at your job. I hope you have a nice house and garage before buying such an expensive toy.

I get paid well, but believe me it is a [censored] up life. I am stressed out to the max almost every day, and my social life is nearly dead. I pay a heavy price believe me.
My GM gives me a Demo allowance of $750 a month towards owning a Porsche, ANY Porsche. So my payment is going to be around 1200-1300 a month, and with the allowance, I am paying jack [censored] to drive a legendary car. It is a no brainer...
As far as the CSVT, I just don't know anymore... I don't have the excitment in me that I once had, to be totally honest. I literally had to force myself to work on my LED Taillights. Whatever happened to the days when modding the damn thing used to excite the crap out of me. It is simply not the same anymore.
Like I said, I am not going anywhere. You guys are my family, but I guess I am in LaLa land right now as far as the car is concerned... Do I build the ultimate CSVT (3L/Turbo) or do I just let it go and buy a Used 911 Turbo...
Right now I am leaning towards the 911. Unless something flies out of left field, you will see me pimping a Speed Yellow 996 Turbo next summer...
Believe it or not, this is a tough call for me. I know that so many of you are laughing at me, thinking that I am smoking crack comapring the two, and asking if I am that stupid. But you know what? There are plenty of 911 Turbos out there, but only a handful of Turbo SVTs, and none the way I wanted to set up mine...
Oh well, it is what it is.

[censored] it do what ever the [censored] you want to do. Its your car your money. [censored] if I had $750 a month to burn towards any vehicle I'd be all over that deal. have fun with it.

Tough call. I was in a turbo contour tonight. Along side me was my buddy in his girl's 911 4s drop. The turbo took it...but damn that is a sick car...I'd take the porsche.

yea by a car length But that certainly is not everything. I too am struggling with my love hate attitude towards the car. Honestly a turbo svt is an extremely satisfying car to drive, and although a porsche may be a nice car, if you want fun you really can't beat the car your svt would be. I have driven porsches bmw m's audi s4's etc, and although they really are great packages, they are really not toys to those of us who are true enthusiasts. The sound, raw power, and (honestly) unrefined nature is really a lot of fun. Not to mention the fact that you could have a great car and be putting that money towards retirement. If you can afford a luxurious well built daily driver, I don't really see why it would a bad idea to have a toy. On the other hand you will have nagging issues with the car, very few will respect it for what it is, and it will always be wrong wheel drive. I don't know anything about you personally, but the image you would like to portray really has a big effect on the decision. Good luck, I know I would be having a hard time too.
